The third person pronoun. What a pain it is to try to get it right when communicating! First it was standard to use the generic masculine: "he." Then it was using "he or she." What about "they?" The Kvetching Professor gets it, but it’s hard. However, back in the mid-1980s, when he was still struggling with shifting away from a lifetime of using the generic masculine, he suddenly discovered THE solution. Works for everyone, regardless of gender identification. Curious? Listen to this episode!
